Wow! All I can really say is that I have been utterly stunned by the response to Smoke on the Water. You pushed it up to No. 10 on the Best Sellers list for Rock e-books on Amazon on release day, and then you pushed it up to No. 8 on Day 2! And as of this morning, Oct. 9, it was the No. 2 New Release in Rock e-books! I am just floored, and humbled, and so many other words. I'd say speechless, but it's more like ramblingly stunned. Thank you all so much for your support! I can only hope you'll continue to greet each of the subsequent books in this series with the same kind of enthusiasm. There are so many stories left to tell, and I think you're going to love them! If you did love "Smoke," please take a moment to leave a rating or short review on Amazon and/or Goodreads, or wherever you like to leave your reviews. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you helping other readers find these books, especially when you love them!
As of Oct. 8, I have also opened the Mystic Beach Boutique, which (for now) hosts listings of personalized, author-signed paperback editions of the Mystic Beach Fantasy Rockstar Romance books. They're priced at retail value. You just pay for shipping and handling to you, because I don't want to be charging for my signature and a few words (I just have to cover the shipping cost to have them sent to me for signing), and you'll get some Mystic Beach swag with any book purchase. I'm hoping to add some more Mystic Beach goodies in the boutique as we get further into the series. Is there something you'd like to see offered there? Send me an email at aislinn@aislinnarcher.com or message me on social media to give me some ideas. Right now, the Mystic Beach swag I have to offer includes a beach-scene postcard from "Mystic Beach" (It's actually a gorgeous winter-solstice sunrise photo from Bethany Beach that I took myself) and custom guitar picks with the aMUSEd and Mystic Beach Music logos on them. I could also offer these for purchase, if there is interest. So, just let me know what you might be interested in, and we'll go from there!
There are a couple of special occasions coming up to celebrate, so stay tuned for details on that and on a giveaway I'll be doing as part of that celebration!
It's almost Halloween/Samhain, and if you're not already a Mystic Beach newsletter subscriber, now is the time to sign up! I've written a seasonal bonus novelette, "Spooky," that lets us catch up with Hunter and Brighid a few months after the conclusion of "Dream Weaver." There are no spoilers for anything beyond Books 1, 1.5 and 2 in the series, so if you've read that far, you're safe to download this one. It is a subscriber exclusive, so you'll need to sign up for the Mystic Beacon to access it. If you're already a subscriber, you can download it just by re-entering your information (you won't get a second newsletter). And you can unsubscribe at any time.
The newsletters are intended to help keep regular readers in the loop on series progress, new releases, contests, background details, etc., and I don't give anyone else your information or use it for anything other than sending out the newsletters to you. My current aim is to do one about every two weeks. I have author friends who do theirs weekly, and others who do theirs once a month, so that seemed a good middle ground. If you'd prefer to get them less often or more often, let me know. If there's a predominance of opinion for either, I'll look into changing in that direction. And if you have something you'd like to see me share in the newsletters, let me know that, too!
Last, but definitely not least, if you've read "Smoke," you'll know that I was generously gifted the right to use a real original song in the book. The song "Remember" was written and is performed by my friend Al Cook, and appears in "Smoke" as the song David writes and records with Piper. It actually ended up as part of the plot of the story! That wasn't the original plan, but then nothing seems to happen by accident with Mystic Beach... So, if you'd like to hear the song actually performed, I have a video I'll share with you now. It's a simple, homemade video using video from the actual recording sessions for the song here in my house in Delaware (which Brighid's house is loosely based upon). It gives you a great peek into the multi-track recording process, because Al performs all of the parts, except the drums, which are handled expertly by his son (my godson), James "Mez" Cook. (There are no keyboards in the real version. That was totally my imagination.) I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do! Make sure to give Al a thumbs-up!
That's all for today! Thanks once again for your support! I couldn't do it without you all!
